It’s hard to believe it’s been a year, but here we are a year from our first gig and we’re still at it. We are so thrilled to be a part of Balkan Night Northwest this year along with so many other fabulous bands. Come down on Saturday afternoon, the fun starts at 3pm with Kukeri and babouyeri fertility dances, and the music will run late into the night on two stages. The m9 plays on teh main floor at 10:15 Saturday night. Special props to our friends in the Bucharest Drinking Team, Dromeno, Eurodanceparty U$A, Orkestar Zirkonium and Sazerac Orchestra for bringing all their energy to this amazing festival. Tickets are available online and at the event. We hope to see you there!
Join us this evening, January 24th, for an all ages, jam-packed extravaganza of Balkan Brass and more. Bucharest Drinking Team begins the night with a bang, followed by The m9, and local Greek legends Dromeno. Long-time favorites Orkestar Zirkonium and the up-and-coming Eurodanceparty USA round out the evening with high energy dance, pop, folk, and everything in between. Doors are at 830, music at 9. We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a delectable appetizer to the main course, Balkan Night Northwest 2015 (Feb, 21-22). For more information, click here.
It’s been almost a year since The m9 gathered in a darkened distillery to sight-read a few charts and see if we could make them speak. Now, after a long Summer hiatus, we are ready to launch into our second year as a band. Several of our members travelled abroad during our little break and we are now beginning to work on new material for all of you. Help us kick off our new season this coming Friday the 19th of September at the Russian Community Center as we play for the Seattle Balkan Dancers at 830pm. Please help support the Seattle Balkan Dancers and The m9 with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. There will also be a dance class offered from 7 to 7:30 and $15 gets you the show and the workshop.
